We should perhaps disable most of the team ops (sync/add/commit/etc) on projects loaded from a version, since you can't change them.
As per our discussion today, we need to sort through workflows and support better. Disabling menus in this case would be cruel since user would not be able to determine why the operations are now unavailable.
Concur. As long as the error clearly indicates why they can't release (it's not a branch), and we provide the ability for them to branch (we do), I think this is reasonable.
We have no suggestions for improvement so punting to 2.0.
Reopening
Reducing bug count. User gets a correct error message (though a bit obscure). Nobody else has reported problems so closing bug report for lack of better idea.
