Context menu in CVS Synchronize has "Commit" and "Override and Update" commands but does not include very useful "Unedit" command. When "Override and Update" is used instead of "Unedit" the file remains marked as being edited in CVS repository. Please add "Unedit" command to the context menu in CVS Synchronize view.
It seems to me that Override and Update should make the file read-only. I can't think of why it wouldn't but there must be something odd happening that is causing it. Regardless, adding Unedit would probably be appropriate. However, there is no current plan to address this but patches will be accepted.
When Watch/Edit option is turned on and "Override and Update" command is issued, the file remains marked as being edited in CVS repository, which is different from the behavior provided by Unedit command.
I haven't verified the behavior in comment 3 but if it is true than it is a bug.
I checked that issue on both 3.3 and N20070901-0010 and it still exists.

I noticed that the problem occurs in all update cases. So the file remains marked as being edited in all cases when "Update", "Update and Override" or "Replace..." commands are issued.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
