Description Chris Mosher CLA 2005-02-08 11:07:37 EST
Would like a way to export a project from the workspace, including it's local
history (from metadata). Of course, would also like to import a previously
exported project into a different workspace with the local history intact.

Basically, I'd like to enhance the current freedom of moving projects between
workspaces to avoid losing all their local history in the process.

Note that the export/import of local history is mentioned in the original
description of Bug 3101, but then seems not to be addressed further.

I'm not sure how much we might have to export to make the local history
usable. DJ?
Comment 2 DJ Houghton CLA 2005-02-08 14:17:12 EST
This is difficult because the local history obviously is stored as part of the
metadata area and not with the project itself. New API would be required to do this.

On the subject of metadata, there is also an outstanding request to export
markers with projects. (bug 21407)

Perhaps a separate tool (part of the Core tools?) could be written to address
these issues.

Either way, we don't have the cycles to work on this in the near future.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
