Description Balasubramaniyan K CLA 2005-02-08 03:11:31 EST
I tried to transfer a file from one machine to another using Eclipse -FTP. The
transferred filed has some special characters appended in each & every line as
shown in the attachment.

I tried different Unicode options but still no result. Is there any specific
settings to prevent this problem?

The FTP plugin is not being actively developed so there is no plan to address
this item. However, patches will be accepted.

For this particular problem, it may be useful to have the original file. Also,
what is your default platform encoding? The FTP plugin doesn't currently have
any encoding support but it does use the File Content types as defined on the
Team>File Content preference page to decide which files are ASCII and which
are binary. It could be that the FTP plugin is expanding line endings for a
none ASCII encoding which is resulting in extra lines.

I am using the default Eclipse Workbench encoding (Cp1252)

I am trying to FTP a file from Windows to another HP-UX/ Linux machine.
I have attached the original file below.

We are in the process of removing the Team FTP/WebDAV feature since the DSDP Target management component (http://www.eclipse.org/dsdp/tm/) provides complimentary functionality and will be shipping as part of Europa. Although the feature will not be part of Europa, we have provided a link to a 3.3 compatible version of the feature at http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Team_Development.

As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
