Description Tim Keith CLA 2005-02-04 16:40:24 EST
For performance reasons, we would like the ability to install multiple features
at one time through the command-line interface. Also disable and uninstall.
Doing them one at a time seems to cause a lot of time to be spent in validation.
Comment 1 Dorian Birsan CLA 2005-02-04 16:48:47 EST
Another benefit is for installing features with interdependencies. Currently
you have to start at the edge of the dependecy graph in order to keep the
update manager happy.
Comment 2 Tim Keith CLA 2005-02-04 17:04:24 EST
If different types of operations could be included in a batch, supporting this
would also fix 84084. "Replace with a different version" could be done by a
disable and enable operation batched together.
Comment 3 Dorian Birsan CLA 2005-04-06 15:10:50 EDT
Tim, can you provide a patch for this?
The internal of install command is already creating a batch install operation,
so some front end work is needed only.

The Eclipse Update component is no longer under development, and no longer exists in the Eclipse Platform 4.x stream. If this problem still occurs in Eclipse Platform 4.2 or later, please enter a new bug report against Equinox p2.
