Please add column with checkbox to the editor table in "Switch to Editor" dialog (Ctrl-Shift-E) to allow to quickly pin editors from the list without walking trough each editor and pinning them one by one.
This dialog is slowing being phased out of Eclipse, and so I don't have any plans to add functionality to it. If you would like to contribute a patch, then it might be possible to add the functionality you're asking for.
Douglas, can you please explain this to me in simplier English? I'm not quite sure what you mean by this. Sorry it is my second language. :( I can try to work on a patch, but I'll need a hint from you. In which module can I find code for this dialog?
The classes are WorkbenchEditorsAction and WorkbenchEditorsDialog (org.eclipse.ui.workbench). We are planning on removing the "Switch to Editor" dialog at some point in the future.
Thanks for the pointers, Douglas. I wonder what will be used to replace this dialog? It is quite useful when you need to choose which editors to close. Current "Switch to editor" dialog (Ctrl-E) does not allow to do any operations with editors (pin or close) and also it is not possible to move or resize it (see bug #68956 assigned to you).
Moving Dougs bugs
As per http://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform_UI/Bug_Triage_Change_2009
Remy is now responsible for watching the [EditorMgmt] component area.
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
