Description Jean-Michel Lemieux CLA 2004-11-02 21:12:54 EST
The current story for contributing to the status line is:

"Copy the StatusLineContributionItem from the ui plugin and use it. If the ui
team decides to change the look of the status line items, they will give you a
patch to fix your contribution item."

We can do better, and at least provide the standard CLabel contribution item as
a helper to everyone. I suggest that user be able to extend the CLabel
contribution item to add double-clic actions and an option context menu.

I assume this is a request for API as opposed to the ability to contribute controls that is now supported - bug 154130

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
