Description Benjamin Bach CLA 2004-10-27 10:36:32 EDT
I keep getting a "Site missing" error for one special site.

I do exactly the same for this site as all the other sites (that work
perfectly). But files aren't listed for this perticular site in the import
selection.

The ftp server works fine (in pasv mode).

I also had this problem in v/3.0.

If you require access to the site in order to fix the bug then please e-mail me.

/Benjamin

p.s. u rule! =)

Unfortunatley, the FTP plugin is not currently undergoing active development.
At some point, I am hoping to add tracing that will allow the output of
different servers to be gathered and support incorporated into the client.
However, there is no plan to do this in the near future. It is not a big deal
to add support for another server if someone was interested in working on it;-)

That's a shame, 'cause it's really essential if you wanna do serious web work.

I can't do java... but I can do an insanely long list of feature requests for
this component =)

I'll just deal with it in its current form.

Is there any other FTP plugins out there?

/Benjamin

I don't know of any other FTP plugins.

I'm also experiencing regular errors with the FTP/WebDav plugin. Eclipse has
been a great editor for me so far, but the increase of trouble with FTP/WebDAV
has driven me back to version 2.x where the FTP/WebDAV plugin seems to work better.

I'd love to get back to 3.0 someday, but I can't work without FTP/WebDAV.

Just my vote for the necessary changes.

we had the same problem too!

first project in workspace works, can import ftp data.
on second project import fails on last step. first, it shows all ftp content (so
the ftp connection is fine), but on the next step, where one can choose what to
import, it fails. this is because no new ftp connection is made (monitored this
in ftp debug console).

but there is some kind of solution (stupid workaround):
- close eclipse
- open your workspace dir
- go to folder "yourworksace\.metadata\.plugins\org.eclipse.team.core"
- delete file ".targetSites"
- restart eclipse, import whatever you want!

developers: please keep improving the ftp functionality. it's a real help for us
webdevelopers!

These plug-ins won't be worked on until someone takes them over. The good news
is that the webtooling project will support deployment.

The FTP plugin is currently not being actively developed or maintained.

We are in the process of removing the Team FTP/WebDAV feature since the DSDP Target management component (http://www.eclipse.org/dsdp/tm/) provides complimentary functionality and will be shipping as part of Europa. Although the feature will not be part of Europa, we have provided a link to a 3.3 compatible version of the feature at http://wiki.eclipse.org/index.php/Team_Development.

As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
