Description Simon Arsenault CLA 2002-01-09 10:44:25 EST
I'm using build 2001-12-04 with the latest Eclipse UI code loaded.

- create a simple project called Test and set the custom location to be
d:\temp\t1 (or whatever you want, just do not call it Test)
- select the project Test and rename it
- once the rename is complete, check the file system, and notice d:\temp\t1
directory is gone.

If the project has at least on file/folder in it, the directory is not deleted.

When renaming a project with a user defined location, it should not change the
directory.

Beside fixing this directory being deleted problem, we need to address the
issues with renaming a project will sometimes change the actual directory name
and sometimes not. From a user level, it is not obvious to them. Core and UI
need to come-up with a proper behavior that the user will expect when renaming.

Fixed in integration build 2002-01-15. Confirmed in Win98.

Moving to Platform/UI for comments on second issue, and closure.

We need a consistent user model for renaming projects. It's confusing why
default and custom location projects behave differently but yet look the same
to the user.

Is this still an issue?
Comment 5 Simon Arsenault CLA 2002-05-27 16:34:20 EDT
Fix is working as of F1 build for release 2.0
