Description Bernhard Merkle CLA 2004-09-10 05:39:08 EDT
This is in relation to bug #39516
Also with CVSNT 2.0.41 it does NOT work correctly, because
you can specify ANY value for the prefix, and the eclipse CVS plugin
does NOT detect that the repository does NOT exist.

example:
- Repository is located under F:\CVS_Repositories\
there are two directories "dirone" and "dirtwo"

- They are mapped to /var/opt/dirone and /var/opt/dirtwo
as names in the CVSNT control panel settings.

- you can speficy /var/opt/dirone and it EclipseCVS gets it

- now the problem is: you can specify /var/opt/blabla and it gets also
dirone !!! This seems to be a bug in the EclipseCVS.

If you haev configured CVSNT to use repository prefixes then how can it be an
Eclipse problem if the prefix doesn't map properly. Eclipse CVS just sends the
repository path as it is entered and CVSNT translates it to a directory.
Perhaps you have not configured the prefixes in CVSNT properly.

Hi Michael,

i have CVSNT configured properly and it USES prefixes (as well as
the option "act like a UNIX server"). please see also

The link you gave requires an account which I do not have. I still fail to see
how this could possibly be an Eclipse issue. However, if you follow the
instructions at the following URL and attach the results, I can look at them
and see if anything is out of the ordinary on the Eclipse end of things.

Our usual practice is to move bugs to the RESOLVED REMIND state when there is not enough information provided to address the reported issue and more information has been requested. This bug has been in the RESOLVED REMIND state for quite some time so it is being CLOSED. If you can provide the requested information or you otherwise feel that this is still an issue, please reopen the bug. If you are unable to open it due to a lack or permissions, please add a comment to the bug stating that you would like to have the request reconsidered. I applogize for this blanket approach to bug screening but there are just to many bugs in the REMIND state for us to effectively triage them. Your help in this matter is appreciated.
