Description Rodney S. Foley CLA 2004-09-05 23:53:16 EDT
It much easier to see what things look like and how things lay out if there
where no border around components like labels and panels. This border is only
visible in the form editor, I am assuming, so that you can identify them
easier. However, it makes it much more difficult to see the first letter of
the label, and to is confusing since it is not actually displayed when it runs.

A good compromise would be to make this feature optional. At least a global
setting in the preferences, but even better yet, have the global preference,
AND to have a button in the toolbar to toggle it on an off just to help see
the components in this view when needed (or not).

We've discussed this in the past, and I'll probably try to add this feature post
1.0. I think we'll have it as a global option in the VE preferences page... to
prevent cluttering the Eclipse toolbar with additional icons.

I've implemented this as a preference page option for now and it works well, but
it'd be a lot more useful as a toggle on the toolbar or as a menu option. Need
to have a bit of discussion to decide what's best for this.

My 2 cents would be to have the prefernce setting for global startup setting.
Then a toggle button for quick access that doesn't effect the global setting.

Then the user could toggle the current view quickly, without having to change
how they want all forms to start when opened.
