From weitzman_d@hotmail.com At the moment a task description can only be one line (although a workaround would be to attach the task to a source file and add a comment there). There are some general tasks that would benift from longer descriptions (i.e. "Add support for feature X. This would involve Y. An issue that would be raised is Z. One possible solution might be to Q. Another would be R, but that means S." etc.). Simply having a task entry/modification dialog box (the sort of dialog box you might find in a calandar program) would be useful. Perhaps the ability to auto-generate a text To-Do file from tasks would be useful as well.
The length limit on the fields presented in the taskview is caused by the native table widget. There is work in progress to add support for getting context senstive help for tasks which will partially address this request. I am going to mark this defect as "helpwanted" as this is a great opportunity for someone in the community to address the other issues brought up in this defect report.
Defer until development resources become available.
Reopen for investigation
Passing to Tod for consideration.
It is just a matter of using a multi-line text - truncation is already handled.
