When the project is created by New Project wizard, the wizard prompts the user 
and switches to the predefined perspective.
Import wizards sometimes creates new project in the workspace but these do not 
have function to change the perspective.
org.eclipse.ui.importWizard extension point needs to support finalPerspective 
option as well as org.eclipse.ui.newWizards extension point.

There has been interest expressed in having this included in 3.0.1, but it 
sounds like an enhancement request to me that should be deferred to 3.1.

We have several import wizards that create projects and our customers consider this an annoying bug, not an enhancement, please consider it for 3.2.x.

This is causing problems for some people in the community. We should consider fixing it. Raising priority so it doesn't get lost.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.
