"Verify that components cannot be dropped on the free form."

I agree with this in every case *except* for Composite.  Currently only Shell is
allowed to be dropped on the free form, but we allow to open VE editing a
Composite.  If we allow editing of Composite to begin with, we should allow
dropping a Composite on the free form.
