Description Peter Sun CLA 2004-06-21 00:20:56 EDT
Several usability defects affect the usability of the Datapool Editor. While no
defect by itself is significant. They issues combined makes the experience
less than ideal.

Bug 58359: Datapool Editor: Needs the ability to multi-select rows.
Bug 60933: On Win2K, can't use Delete Key, when editing a cell value in
datapool table

There's no problem on WinXp, but happens on Win2K.

From Functional Tester Eclipes:
Open Datapool and edit a cell value, delete key is not functional only
backspace can be used.

Bug 67091: Copy&Paste a cell does not work for non-string

For example, pick a cell from datapool which is a Script.State object (in
RFT), choose copy, then paste to another cell, nothing happens.
In the code DatapoolClipboard.java, TextTransfer is used and content is cast
to String. I guess that may be the problem.

Bug 67380: "Edit Record" dialog still has equivalence class field

From RFT Eclipse datapool editor, right click on a record, choose "Edit
Record". In the dialog, there's still a field for equivalence class.
Comment 6 Peter Sun CLA 2004-06-21 00:42:08 EDT
Additional defect involves the use of TAB and Enter navigation.

TAB should cause the cell to the right to be selected and Enter should cause
the cell below the currently selected cell to be selected.
Comment 7 Peter Sun CLA 2004-06-21 00:51:12 EDT
Additional defect concerns the insertion of rows on paste instead of
overwriting.

RFT would like rows to be inserted upon paste and not simply overwrite. Check
with Pleadies and come up with proper solution. This deviates from Excel.

Comment 10 Peter Sun CLA 2004-07-11 22:19:31 EDT
Bug 69406: RFT Datapool: Linux: Keyboard navigation problem

1.Select a cell, edit cell value,move to the next cell(use right arrow),from
here on we can't navigate further using keyboard
2.Navigate through the Datapool cells using no mouse.Select a cell press enter
at this point the cell is in edit mode, using right or left arrow keys shifts
the focus to a different cell rather than being able to move with in the cell.
(This one is the same behavior as in Windows)

Comment 12 Peter Sun CLA 2004-07-11 22:21:46 EDT
Bug 69385: Datapool RFT Eclipse IDE: Variable name, is not updated to the Editor

It happens on a clean RFT project.
1.Create a Datapool,add some variables
2.Click on a Variable Header, in the resulting dialog change the name of
varible and click 'ok'.
3.Variable name is not updated to the Editor. But if the editor is closed and
re-opened it gets updated.

Comment 14 Peter Sun CLA 2004-07-11 22:23:30 EDT
Bug 69402: RFT Datapools: Linux - Add Record dialog clipped

RFT Datapools: Linux (Red Hat Enterprise) - Add Record dialog clipped.

To reproduce:
1) Create datapool, open it.
2) In grid area, right-click and select "Add Record". Add Record dialog
appears.
RESULT: This is a very small dialog that consists of only 2 radio buttons and
associated lables. The second radio button and lable text are clipped in half.
NOTE: OK on Windows.

Comment 16 Peter Sun CLA 2004-07-11 22:31:10 EDT
Bug 69404: RFT Datapool: Linux: Context menu items get selected automatically

To reproduce:
1.Select a cell within a Datapool
2.RightClick on the cell, which has to open ContextMenu, instead what we see is
that a particular menu item gets selected automatically, and context menu is
not presented to the user
Comment 17 Peter Sun CLA 2004-07-26 01:00:07 EDT
Fixed 67091: Copy&Paste a cell does not work for non-string
Fixed 67380: "Edit Record" dialog still has equivalence class field
Fixed enter key handling (moves down a row) and arrow key navigation inside a
cell once data has been entered. Excel allows arrow key navigation within a
cell if a person hits F2 or if there is already text in the field.

Comment 18 Peter Sun CLA 2004-07-26 01:01:48 EDT
Fixed 69385: Datapool RFT Eclipse IDE: Variable name, is not updated to the
