If one of our viewers is opened and there is no data to show, we don't really explain very well why this is so, and what the user can do to show data. We need to customize these messages for each view, explaining exactly why there is no data, and the steps needed to get this kind of data. Also, we should investigate using more inclusive default profiling sets. Users are complaining that they can't figure out how to get data in their views, and they don't know that they have to edit the sets.
I am renaming this bug since customizing the error message is not the only solution, and maybe not the most desirable one. The problem we're trying to solve here is that new users don't understand why their sequence diagrams are always empty. They don't know that they have to edit the profiling set. So - the new proposed solution is to add a new profiling set with all the execution flow turned on, including the graphical views.
Sounds like this has a doc hit.. please let me know when this is done so I can add this to the docs. thanx.
Fix submitted to 3.3 and 4.0.
This has been documented already, but, for accounting purposes, can u please add the Documentation keyword? thanx.
Verified with latest name change to "Execution History - Full Graphical Detail". Closing bug.
