Description Stefan Xenos CLA 2004-06-04 11:19:55 EDT
The presentation API is intended as an experimental API, and is likely to change
post-3.0.

This should be reflected in its JavaDoc.
Comment 1 Nick Edgar CLA 2004-06-04 11:46:53 EDT
I concur. Jim, does this need approval?

Comment 2 Michael Van Meekeren CLA 2004-06-04 13:51:53 EDT
So the resolution here is to improve comments in the
IPresentationPart.getControl()
IPresentationPart.getToolbar()
StackPresentation.dispose()

to more clearly speak about the life cycle issues, warnings for things that
are unspecified, intended uses and the likelyhood of future improvements that
will ease the burden on clients especially for getToolbar.

I suggest we do not mark it as experimental.
Comment 3 Stefan Xenos CLA 2004-06-04 13:58:49 EDT
Sadly, it looks like we're stuck with supporting getToolbar forever. :-(

After some discussion with Jim and Michael, we've worked out a plan to replace
it with something better while keeping compatibility, but it looks like the
experimental tag is out.

marking as WORKSFORME ... the API is in since 3.0
