1. Open the packages view. 2. Click on the toolbar arrow button, whose menu contains the items "Filters...", "Show Referenced Libraries", etc. 3. Now press and hold the left mouse button on the same widget. The menu does not come up until the mouse is released. This behaviour is inconsistent with other widgets on both Windows and Motif. The menu should come up as soon as the button is pressed, BEFORE it is released. We can probably just hook SWT.MouseDown instead of SWT.Selection on this particular ToolItem.
for PullDownButton items, the addSelectionListener method of the ToolItem class in org.eclipse.swt.widgets dchooses which eventTypes the listener will be notified for. It uses Selection and DefaultSelection, but not MouseDown. If this is to be added to the listener, it seems like it should be done within this method. Should this bug be reassigned to the SWT team?
Little more complicated than just hooking up the correct listener...but not impossible to do. Maybe someone from the community will be interested in helping out with this.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
