It would be neat to have similar functionality to "Commit Sets" layout for any directory of the project to get a retrosective view on commits up to some date. Probably it will be not a bad idea to allow to specify a date range for that view.
In RC1 the compare with date tag will provide showing the changes from date to tag in workspace. If you want to compare against two dates you will have to checkout a date tag. Alternatively, you can easily compare current branch back to a date.
Jean-Michel, this isn't about compare. It is about to see what was changed along with CVS comments. E.g. to see all intermediate iterations since selected date tag. Anyway, is there are any chance to have this feature implemnted in 3.1? Thank you.
Have you even tried it? If you switch to commit sets it will show all commits between the contents in the workspace and a date. We still don't have the option of specifying two dates though.
Actually you right. Comparison with DATE tag brings all retrospective changes in commit sets view. Thank you. However it does not work when comparing with another tag. Should I file another bug for that? And what about comparison between two date tags or between tag and date from CVS Repositories view? I'm getting the following error when selecting two date tags in there. The server reported an error while performing the "cvs rdiff" command. : cvs [server aborted]: second date must come after first date!
I'll keep this bug open to track the two date case. I didn't have time to provide support for the two dates.
This would be a nice feature but we don't have the manpower to address it at this time. Patches will be accepted.
As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported. Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
