The Job description is shown in the progress segment in the status bar.
To avoid that the label in the segment gets compressed like "Search for 
Referen...space" it should be shortened to only show the Job's main function, 
e.g. "Java Search", "File Search", ...

Which names do you have in mind that would exceed the budget?

"Search for broken NLS keys", for example.

shortened the descriptions for File Search & Java Search the others (NLS, etc)
actually show up ok. Additionally, you almost can't see them anyway (the actions
usually take a very short time).

verified that Java and file search labels are OK.
