Currently, a default name is chosen for the Execution Results when the user selects a Test in the first tab of the Launch Configuration. This default name is the name of the selected test (unless a contributor plugin overrides this behavior). The automatic link between the test and the results name is cut if the user changes the results name, but there no way to switch back to the automatic link, nor there is a visual indication whether the automatic link is there or not. I suggest to add a check-box "Use default name" in the "Execution Results" tab. When checked, the "Name" field is disabled and shows the default name. When unchecked, the "Name" field is enabled and the user may modify the results name.
I'm not sure if it's possible to disable the Name field of the launch configuration dialog, as this is probably buried in the internals of the dialog.
I meant the "Name" field in the "Execution Results" tab, not the "Name" field used for choosing the Launch Configuration's name. As the developer of "Execution Results" tab, I known this is possible :-)

Updating feature target per 01/10 UI main committers meeting
Fixed in TPTP 4.0i1. Added a new "Use defaults" check box in the Execution Results tab. If checked, other fields in this tab are grayed and filled with default values. If not checked, other fields are enabled and the user may enter his/her own values. PII change: 2 additional strings Documentation impact: need to document the new checkbox.
ACTION: Please verify/close this defect.
Verified on TPTP-4.3.0-200611070100 driver.
