Just in case this has been missed... it would be nice to have Window menu 
actions and a shortcut key for minimizing and maximizing the current view.  (in 
VA/Java this was Ctrl+M).

This is available in the menu obtained by right-clicking on a view pane title 
bar, but is not accessible with a mouse (or is it?).

I assume you meant "is not accessible with a keyboard".
We are adding an accelerator for the view titlebar menu (want to use 
ALT+HYPHEN, but there's an SWT bug preventing this currently).
So maximize and restore would work similarly to the window menu.
