Description David Balažic CLA 2021-11-19 03:35:11 EST
When comparing (select two files in Project Explorer, right click, menu: Compare With / Each Other )two *.java files, the compare editor uses syntax highlighting for the content.

When comparing *.jsp or *.sql, there is no highlighting.

In first case "Java Source Compare" is used, in others "Text Compare"

Does highlighting in non Java files require extra code?

Tested with version:

Eclipse IDE for Enterprise Java and Web Developers (includes Incubating components)
