After synchronizing and determining outgoing changes choosing the checkin dialog to make checking comment. The mouse cursor changes to I-beam as expected at the very edge of text box but typing does not appear to work. 

After lots of things I tried resizing the window (of the dialog) and it almost immediately showed text that I thought I was not being able to type.

Even after doing this, returning to this screen again does not work without resizing the dialog. 

You can even choose a previous comment, but it doesn't seem to show up. But as soon as you resize the dialog, it's there.

Note that CVS is not actively maintained anymore, and is nominated to be discontinued. If this support is crucial for you or your company, you must consider taking over the support or paying somebody to do the support for you.
