I have installed with the installer the last version 2021-09 and also downloaded and Run the c++ embedded executable, and in both cases when I try to import project with archive from gihub>
Import projects..-General-archive file- Browse-> get the error on the picture

I am with ubuntu 16.04 lts

I guess Ubuntu 16.04 runs on very old gtk3 version. Modern Eclipse requires 3.20 at least. Most likely you have to update your distro or stay with old Eclipse.

https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/xenial/+source/gtk+3.0 says it has GTK 3.18 and SWT requires 3.20+. Please update your OS or try https://flathub.org/apps/details/org.eclipse.Java as flatpak makes sure that gtk deps are provided by the Flatpak runtime.
