Description Michaël Cadilhac CLA 2021-09-18 18:49:21 EDT
On minimalist window managers such as i3 and awesome, the caret just disappears after using javadoc or other popup triggered actions.

Recipe:
1. Create a new workspace
2. Edit a Java file
3. Hover over a call to a defined function
4. Click "open declaration"
-> No caret no more.

Going to another window and back brings back the cursor.

This behavior has been consistent for the past several years; for instance, this SE question still has activity: https://stackoverflow.com/questions/58570511/the-cursor-randomly-disappears-in-eclipse-2019-09-and-sometimes-stops-writing.

This may be related to #404338 (and duplicates) and #412881. Note that the added information in this bug report is the use of minimalist window managers.
