Description Andrew scott CLA 2021-08-27 19:54:20 EDT
I am running Mac OS Catalina (2020 MacBook Pro 13") and am installing the 2012-06 version of Eclipse from the pkg installed for Mac OS.

I have prior to this installed on my Mac computer Java JDK 11.0.2 from Adopt Open JDK at /Library/Java/JavaVirtualMachines/jdk-11.0.2+7/ from a pkg installer.

The first time I opened Eclipse I created a new workspace on an external USB SSD drive and it seemed to work as normal.

However, on the second launch after closing Eclipse, the Eclipse logo just bounced up and down on the Launch Bar but never opened.

Knowing the trick of launching Eclipse from the command line with the -clean switch as in:

      ~/eclipse/Eclipse.app/Contents/MacOS/eclipse -clean

I was able to get it to start, but when closing and clicking again on the Eclipse icon in the launcher (I selected to keep it on the bar upon the first working launch), the icon Bounces but no application launch occurs, not even choosing a workspace.

I noticed that it seems to work from the command line, even when I do not call it with the -clean switch, but it fails to run from the launcher.

Please do let me know what I can provide to make isolating issue easier for you.
