I again had to search for the API breakage guide because another big eclipse based plugin crashed using an old removed API (JFace Assert) I have to point them to the API break document so that they can fix the issue. However, that page is unreadable. It can be reached using the following links: somehow find: https://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/readme_eclipse_4.17.php then click 1.2.1 Compatibility of Release 4.17 with 4.16 (https://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/readme_eclipse_4.17.php#mozTocId324309) then click Eclipse 4.17 Plug-in Migration Guide (https://www.eclipse.org/eclipse/development/porting/eclipse_4_17_porting_guide.html) Then click Deprecated API removals in Eclipse Platform(https://git.eclipse.org/c/platform/eclipse.platform.common.git/plain/bundles/org.eclipse.platform.doc.isv/porting/removals.html) This page shows gibberish.
Moving to UI because nobody follows Doc.
Perhaps go via help.eclipse.org? [1] ("Platform Plug-in Developer Guide" -> "Plug-in Migration Guide" -> "Deprecated API Removals"). Doesn't seem to be indexed by Google, though. (In reply to Thomas Wolf from comment #2) > Perhaps go via help.eclipse.org? [1] ("Platform Plug-in Developer Guide" -> Right! That is what I was looking for. This must be fixed. We want to point people there instead of to a raw git page. However, the current WIP release [1] cannot point to help.eclipse.org because there is no content for 2021-03 [2] We should generate [2] as part of the normal release cycle and this page [3] Should have a 'Next Release' link... That way, we can point all our URLs to help.eclipse.org specifically from the new and noteworthy pages.
