Typing some random string in Ctrl+3 dialog should show a "Search 'randomString' in files", "Search 'randomString' in folder/" (where folder/ is the current selection, when appropriate) something like that, that would immediately trigger a workspace search. It would allow Ctrl+3 to replace many occurrences of Ctrl+h.
