Created attachment 284938 [details] (1) OS-Dark Mode; Editor-Light Mode This encompasses a couple of different settings, but center around the UI mismatching the dark/light theme (editor) with respect to the OS' dark/light mode (os). For example, when the os is in dark mode, the editor's default light settings will be a mix of dark and light (1). Conversely, when the os and the editor are both in dark mode, things are much better, but not quite perfect (2). There are some color settings somewhere that have a light background and text color, causing the text the be unreadable unless it's highlighted by the mouse cursor. Eclipse IDE for C/C++ Developers (includes Incubating components) Version: 2020-09 (4.17.0) Build id: 20200910-1200 OS: Linux, v.5.4.0-54-generic, x86_64 / gtk 3.24.20 Java version: 14.0.2 For the sake of full disclosure, Linux is installed on a VirtualBox 6.1 VM. The issue does not occur when both the OS and editor are in light mode; however, it's like staring into an eclipse (pun intended) and not good for my aging eyes.

Thanks for the bug report and screenshot showing what is happening. This is not a CDT specific issue, so passing to the Eclipse Platform team.
