If the user selects File -> Exit no confirmation dialog is giving. If the user clicks the close icon in the top level window a exit confirmation dialog is given if the user have select the preference Confirm existing when closing last windows. Do we need this confirmation dialog at all? Other applications I tried don't show a confirmation dialog if the user hits the close icon: - Browser - LibreOffice - Vscode
Karsten, what is Mac standard behavior? Do Mac apps ask the user if he wants to close if he uses the corresponding shortcut?

This is so long in Eclipse, you can't just remove it because you don't like it. As proposed on Gerrit, please change the default option but don't remove the dialog completely.
