When enabling the Dark Theme in Eclipse preferences, the default syntax coloring is adjusted to some (very colorful) defaults.

Then, in the reference Java > Editor > Syntax Coloring when unchecking the 'enabled' button for all possible elements, another (less colorful) default is set and can be applied.

That's OK so far.

But after a restart of Eclipse, the very colorful default of the dark theme is applied back.

Why is the less colorful default not saved?

At least for me it is more easy to start from a simple coloring and add colors if needed than the other way around. So my suggestion would be to adjust the very colorful dark theme default to the other less colorful default.
