I'm not sure if in current canvas implementation is even possible to fix.

Normally on mac, scrollbars are hidden by default until scroll starts. If during this (or right after) move scroll around scrollbar line (view edge is enough) it become visible, also a little bit wider,  and you can easy click and move it into any place, for example in Tree View or any other native view outside eclipse.

But this doesn't work in editor and other "canvas". After scroll you have to move your mouse cursor very fast and very precisely. This allow you click and move into desired location.

Extremely frustrating on bigger screens.
