Build 20030324 Often, after a search action has completed, when I switch to other perspectives or views, and then come back to search view again, my last search results have disappeared, and the search history is empty again (cannot search again, have to manually redo it from scratch). In a similar fashion, it often forgets that I preferred horizontal layout for rendering results.
Forgot to mention I am using multiple windows.
Thomas, we should investigate for M8.
The history list is the same at this time for all the search views, so if you do a "clear history" in one view, that will remove the searches from all views. Is that what's happening? The layout options are per view, though, different per window. How does your setup look? Where do you have search result views open (which perspectives, which windows)?
I am wondering whether this is an interaction between old-search and new-search. I am only using standard perspectives.
Are you using "Occurrences in File"?
No so far - but I don't have more than 1 search view. Instead I normally have a search perspective.
Philippe, is this still a problem?
No, it seems to work fine now.
Well, I'll close it then.
What was the fix ? <g>
I'll tell you when you tell me what the problem was<g>. I honestly dont' know.
This is still a problem for me in build i0504-0800. - in my Resource perspsective I do a search - switch to my Team perspective - switch back to the Resource perspective - search results view is empty Note that I have only one workbench window but I have the Search view as a detached view in my Resource perspective.
Adding the view back into the application window fixes the problem. This, however should be transparent to me. Moving to Platform-UI, since I can't see how that would be a search problem. I tried the same proceduce with the error log with the same results. Definitely not a search problem.
Just to make Thomas's comments clearer, when you dock the detached view, the search results suddenly re-appear.
Cleaning up defect lists by setting ones without recent traffic to 'REMIND'.
As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported. Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
