I200403200010 To reproduce: - start a long-running operation that will trigger the progress dialog to open (like "replace with latest from repository") - Notice that the dialog shows up as an application window (called "Progress Information" in the Windows start bar - On multimonitor systems, the dialog shows up in the opposite monitor as the current Eclipse window. I suspect both problems might be caused by an incorrect (or null) parent shell being passed into the Progress Information dialog.
Created attachment 8808 [details] screenshot of the problematic dialog (in case it's not clear from the description)
Stefan please add any other cases where you see this to this problem report
Created attachment 9557 [details] More screenshots of bad dialogs
All of these except for the workbench shutdown dialog are Team dialogs.

As per http://wiki.eclipse.org/Platform_UI/Bug_Triage_Change_2009
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. If the bug is still relevant, please remove the stalebug whiteboard tag.
