Description Greg Watson CLA 2019-09-29 20:17:41 EDT
Since upgrading to 2019-09 I've notice that command-D to delete the line just stops working sometimes. It appears specific to a single editor, so even when it stops in one editor, it keeps working in other editors. Closing the editor and reopening it restors the correct operation. It is really annoying and wasn't present in 2019-06 as far as I recall.

Any errors in the log? Only command-D is broken, or other shortcuts too? Does it happen only for Java editors?
Comment 2 Greg Watson CLA 2019-10-02 16:42:17 EDT
No errors in the log. Only command-D is broken. I have only seen it happen in the Java editor but this is the main one I'm using.

I will try to collect more information when I see the problem again.

Does the problem also disappear when you only switch between editors?

Could be a duplicate of Bug 426557. Is the keybinding (like all text editing keybindings) broken for editors that are active and minimized on startup?
Comment 5 Wim Jongman CLA 2020-10-14 13:09:37 EDT
I see that as well. I also see that CTRL-Z / CTRL-Y are stopping in the same way. Opening and closing the editor fixes the issues.

I am looking for a solid way to reproduce this. Comment 426557#c3 looks promising.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

I am unable to reproduce this with 2023-03 so am closing this as fixed. If the problem shows itself again, please open a new issue in github.
