Description Knut Wannheden CLA 2019-09-19 14:18:30 EDT
As an alternative to the Quick Search dialog I would love having it as a view or possibly just a search field somewhere, which immediately (and incrementally) displays the results in the Search view.

My use case is that I might want to inspect multiple of the matches without having to reopen the modal dialog.

Not a bad idea but someone need to implement it. Until that happen you should try the "Keep Open" option in Quick Search dialog. I learned this option from this video [1] showing new features in recent Eclipse release.

Thanks for the tip!

I believe the most simple solution would be a button "show in search results" to just forward the quick search results to the standard search results view. That way all the additional features of that view (list presentation, tree presentation, deletion of search result items, ...) are immediately available.
