Dialog that I see.

I have a General project.
I drag a file into that project from outside Eclipse, from a different location in the file system (from Windows Explorer).
I choose the 'Link to file' option.
I can see the new file link in the project.
I now drag and drop the same file again, from the same location.
This time, I choose the 'Copy' option.
I am offered the chance to overwrite the existing file (which is a link resource).

I get a failure indicating that the file cannot be copied onto itself.
I would have expected, that as I have chosen the overwrite option, that the file should be copied and the link resource replaced with a copy of the actual file.

I can reproduce it using 4.12 M1.
Comment 2 Eclipse Genie CLA 2021-05-05 00:28:53 EDT
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
