I often trigger pinch-to-zoom accidentally and find it a very distracting interruption. Is there a way to disable it?

Even after practicing the gesture to recover the zoom, I still have a hard time remembering where I was focused before I was zoomed in and out, and find myself searching around to regain my place.

(An aside for perhaps another ticket, though I don't have a solution:

The "recovery" gesture (45-degree rotation to restore the earlier zoom level) is also a little strange and I don't think it's plausibly discoverable when zoom "happens" to a new user. I only found out about it in the "what's new" for Neon, which is itself the only documentation I was able to find, and this was after weeks of occasionally getting stung and recovering manually (to approximately the same zoom) with cmd-+/-.)

I asked about this on stackoverflow, and user greg-449 commented: "Looking at the source code (initializeZoomGestures in org.eclipse.ui.texteditor.AbstractTextEditor) there does not appear to be any way to disable this."

One workaround is to disable the "pinch to zoom" feature in OSX globally in the Trackpad Settings.
