Description Jose M Beleta CLA 2004-03-02 05:19:29 EST
Normally I set Eclipse using two Windows one with several opened perspectives
(Java, Resources, CVS, etc.) the other one with the Debug perspective. To get
this I usually start eclipse with the first window and have the "Open a new
perspective" preference set to "In a new window". When the debugger starts it
opens in a new window. If i inadvertently close the first window I have to set
again all the perspectives because the layout is not preserved, this is little
bit annoying.

To help avoiding this please consider saving and restoring windows and
perspectives layout settings by the user.

I would also like a way to export all customized perspective layouts so that
each time I create a new workspace, which turns out I need to do more often
than I thought, I can just import the layouts exported from a previous
workspace, saving an hour or two of manual manipulation of the views within
each perspective that I use.

There is currently no plan to work on this

As of now 'LATER' and 'REMIND' resolutions are no longer supported.
Please reopen this bug if it is still valid for you.
