I just had to accept an Eclipse Foundation certificate during installation. That certificate shows backslashes in its name and other details, both in the confirmation dialog as well as in the certificate details dialog.

I cannot differentiate, whether that is an issue in displaying the certificate fields, or if really the certificate itself contains those characters. (and I apologize, if the bug therefore has wrong project and component)

Could you please also add a sshot of the details of the certificate? Thanks.

Screenshot of certificate details available in https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/attachment.cgi?id=273976 (please ignore the highlighting, it is for another bug).

BTW: While I have seen the certificate confirmation dialog many times during the last years, this was the first time I saw such a backslash. That's why I would suspect the certificate itself to contain the bad characters (unless there were some recent changes in the related UI code).

Please address this issue. Neither "Eclipse Foundation\, Inc" nor "Sun Microsystems Inc" are valid entries.

Major. This is a licensing bug and has a direct impact on EGIT installation. See Bug 543439.

This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.

How can a major bug be stale?
