New Server Runtime Environment 1

Windows -> Preferences -> Server -> Runtime Environments -> Add...

I wanted to add Tomcat 6.0 to reproduce and debug a problem seen on an existing system.

I selected the version, checked "Create a new local server" and clicked "Next >".

Then I entered an install directory and got the message "The Tomcat installation directory is not valid. It is missing expected file or folder lib/jasper-el.jar."

Of course the file is missing! I want Eclipse to "Download and Install...", but that button is grayed out. See attached image.

In addition, selecting any version of tomcat after 6.0 gives the error: "Unknown version of Tomcat was specified."

Comment 2 Eclipse Genie CLA 2020-07-30 11:59:37 EDT
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug.

If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant.
