I'd be surprised if this had anything to do with Scala nor JDT (where you reported this). => Moving to Platform/UI. I'd expect this kind of issue more on GTK, but this happened on Windows 10?

In Dark theme, Rt.Click on project -> show in terminal -> typed "gradlew --refresh-dependencies" -> after the build finished it the carrot(in white) is miss-aligned with the words(when typing). Was able to reproduce again.
