In my workbench, on a project that has a pom.xml but that's not a Maven project, I can see the "open pom" or "import binary project" on the context-menu. Those operations are IMO not critical enough to take some space in the context-menu (as a reminder, the length and irrelevancy/uselessness of some context-menus is a usual reason why people complain about Eclipse IDE). To keep the IDE clean and usable, those commands should either be removed from context menu, or grouped under a "Maven" submenu.
Can you check which plugins contribute those menus[1]? I'm pretty sure the binary project is not m2e. [1] http://www.vogella.com/tutorials/EclipseCodeAccess/article.html#menu-spy
This bug hasn't had any activity in quite some time. Maybe the problem got resolved, was a duplicate of something else, or became less pressing for some reason - or maybe it's still relevant but just hasn't been looked at yet. As such, we're closing this bug. If you have further information on the current state of the bug, please add it and reopen this bug. The information can be, for example, that the problem still occurs, that you still want the feature, that more information is needed, or that the bug is (for whatever reason) no longer relevant. -- The automated Eclipse Genie.
