IMHO it would be useful to have a shortcut for commenting out text. My use case is for Asciidoc.

Crrl+Shift+C is the usual language agnostic shortcut.
@Lars: IMO, the command and shortcut should be provided in platform.text and editors should simply plug-in a handler with the right activeWhen.

The original bug 207881 is waiting since 2007. 
Once done, we should wire the command to wikitext.
