The welcome screen provides a checkbox "Always show welcome at startup". The setting is persisted with the view settings. Instead it should use eclipse preferences. This would allow that the setting is recordable by oomph.

Storing in preferences does not necessarily mean that there needs to exist a preferences page for this setting
