pen vs. flashlight icon

The search icon could be improved to not look like a pen. 
 
I always thought "Why did they choose a pen as icon for the search?" until I
realized that it should be a flashlight.

With a shaft that is not yellow it would still look like a flashlight but not like a pen.

I would prefer a magnifier symbol as it is used by most programs as search icon.
