Created attachment 266282 [details] Screen shot of missing icons Both the active and inactive icons are missing. No error is thrown. Open the Welcome Screen and click customize to show First Steps and Web Resources.
Please, report the steps needed to reproduce the error, i.e. which Eclipse you use, which plugins you added, how do you "click customize" From my side, it is unclear if this is an issue in the Platform welcome screen, or is an issue due to other plugins adding their icons on top of the welcome screen. Thanks for reporting!
Got it - I see what you mean. I am using Neon 4.6.2 IDE for Java Developers. I have added a few features but at this point I don't know which ones since I don't know which ones come in the base package. So, I downloaded a fresh IDE for Java Developers. And now I see that First Steps and Web Resources are not available. In my original copy, First Steps is contributed to by Subversive and Acceleo. Web Resources is contributed to by Acceleo. I am guessing I should report the bug to Acceleo then?
Forgot to add that I am using a 64bit build. I did some more research yesterday and still see that First Steps and Web Resources are platform supplied anchors points. Our software that is built on Eclipse is contributing to First Steps with no custom icon and is having the same problem.
It's true: we're missing icons for First Steps and Web Resources.
Thoughts on the following? ## First Steps For First Steps, I'm thinking of using the compass icon, as used in the other themes: http://fontawesome.io/icon/compass/ But the numbered list might work too (http://fontawesome.io/icon/list-ol/) though we're using the bulleted-list for cheat-sheds. ## Web Resources For Web Resources, the other themes use a spider web, but FA doesn't have such an icon. I'm thinking one of these icons: http://fontawesome.io/icon/code/ http://fontawesome.io/icon/file-code-o/
For Web Resources, I would prefer to see the link icon: http://fontawesome.io/icon/link/ The compass is OK but what about the walking man (blind): http://fontawesome.io/icon/blind/
The Link sounds good. I had an informal survey amongst my co-workers and people expressed strong reservations about using the blind walking man icon.
Incorporated Link and Compass with http://git.eclipse.org/c/platform/eclipse.platform.ua.git/commit/?id=c0d653794c46020c435891436f21d488ecfb69ef
