Description Tod Creasey CLA 2001-10-11 14:24:11 EDT
From Eclipse Corner

Subject: Problem: Linux eclipse LANG =de_DE@euro
From: mle@neze.de (mle)
Newsgroups: eclipse.tools
Organization: Private
Date: Sep 29 2001 17:04:01

The value of the environment variable LANG on SuSE Linux 7.2 is defined
as
	export LANG=de_DE@eure
The executable "eclipse" don't work with that setting in the version
136a and 137, but it worked for version 135.
The error message is "Speicherzugriffsfehler" (Memory access error?)
If I do export LANG=de_DE
then eclipse version 136a and 137 can start too.

NOTES:
Comment 1 Grant Gayed CLA 2001-10-18 13:16:54 EDT
The main eclipse executable seems to be causing the problem, so I believe that
this is a Core issue. Forwarding to Core. (If you don't have a machine to
reproduce the problem on then you can use the TripleDE machine in the SWT lab).
Comment 2 DJ Houghton CLA 2001-10-18 16:08:39 EDT
I checked and there was a new eclipse.exe contributed (by SWT) into the 0.136
build.

The last Core contributions to the R1.0 builds were in 0.135.

Moving to Platform/SWT for investigation.

Fixed by Silenio. Note that the only place where it was failing was SuSe.
