Could you check your log file for any errors?

   https://wiki.eclipse.org/FAQ_Where_can_I_find_that_elusive_.log_file%3F

Is this a custom product, or where did you download your Eclipse from?

Log with the error

The log shows a NPE.
I have the same problem as OP.
I did a fresh install with Oomph installer of Eclipse Java and then migrated a workspace from Luna with a proxy already configured but it is not working and I can not edit it now.
Almost sure that a new workspace will fix this issue but I don't want to reconfigure everything, maybe you can tell me where to remove the configured proxy to fix the issue as I am unable to find that configuration on the workspace files.
